Hi Jack - awesome lesson. It’s difficult to make arpeggios sound “musical” over this type of groove. Of course, you nailed it as usual. It would be helpful if you could create more studies based on arpeggio based soloing concepts as you consider future material. That said, you already creating a significant amount of excellent material for you global following! Finally, would it be possible to post the backing track?

Mike

Jack, is there a backing track I missed?

Steve Foster

Not to speak for Jack, but where it’s played in Bar3 over A7 (A, C#, E, G) it’s used as a chromatic passing note from the 5th of A (E note) to get to the b7 of the A7(G). And then in bar 4, the G flat / F# is used to highlight the third of the D9 chord (D, F#, A, E).

Martin Dyhouse

Try again ! . In the first solo with arpeggio there is a G flat that's not in the A7 arpeggio, sounds right but a bit confusing ?
