New to your lessons here and I love the idea of the lesson but i must admit i was looking for tab and a chord chart.... perhaps its elsewhere

Another great lesson Jack. Thanks so much for the easier Chord Tone Targeting exercises and then the Mix it Up version. I found the opening Intro Solo whilst incredible to listen to quite a bit above my current skill level. On a positive note you have provided a clear pathway for me to get there. Thanks Digger!

I'm with you Dennis. Knowing the chord inversions (CAGED System style) and scale degrees is the way to go. No point in traveling all over the fret board for exactly the same notes! I also find around 9th to 12th frets my fingers fit better with the fret spacing (1st to 3rd Frets too far apart & 18th to 22nd frets too close together) and bending the strings is also easier around there.

Wasn't the course on sale? Looks like it is not anymore.

This is kind of genius. I took some time to map it all out so I could get a better idea of what notes to play over each chord. All the notes of the chords are readily available in frets 9 thru 12. If you add up the types of notes in the 6 chords there are 4 A notes, 4 C# notes, 3 E notes, and the remaining in 2 or 1 of each. Fun to stay in that 4 fret box and find the patterns that match the chord progression. A better way to learn guitar indeed.

Jack, I love your teaching style. From your courses and a bunch of time in the woodshed, I understand and have mapped the triads in all positions, string sets and the connections between the shapes. Your new triads course filled in a more holes as the melodic journey continues….this course & Patron membership are worth every penny. Thank you 🎸

Dan

I bought the triads course a few days ago while I was on holidays although haven't looked at it yet. Then I poked around Patreon today and decided to watch this video. Just as it got to the "mix it up" part near the end, I noticed an email in my inbox about renewing my annual membership. If I had any doubts about renewing, that part alone blew them away.
