In this lesson we dissect a great solo from the tune 'Delilah' by Clifford Brown.

How I Approach Practice!

Comments

Hi Jack, I would also like to follow up from Michael's comment above. I absolutely Love your guitar lessons and teaching but am having a very difficult time organizing them in a way that I can easily find them and practice them consistently. And recently, your Patreon home page changed to make this even more difficult, as I am not able to search for your lessons by month and year. Only by year, or starting from newest or oldest lessons. I did just download the Patreon app to my google phone and have had more success in scrolling through your recent lessons, from this year at least. But the Patreon app doesn't seem to work very well at all w/ my Samsung Tablet. When I try to load previous or older lessons it just gets stuck on the dreaded spinning arrow icon! SORRY for the long ms. hear. I messaged you before about this at the top of your Patreon page but not sure if you've seen it yet. Also, Thank You for this Excellent Clifford Brown lesson! Wow, I love the concepts and chords/scales and licks you demo hear!

RIchard Alan

so over the D9, you mean F lydian dominant?

Dave

Great lesson as usual; curious if it’s possible to also have the specific chord voicings tabbed out as well for lessons like these so we can comp along. Thank You

Sometimes there is a delay of some days before the charts and BT's are posted but they always show up sooner or later. Jack is a very busy guy. You should be getting email notifications of new postings.

Bruce Anderson

Same here. Really enjoying the content since I joined BTW

J.J.

I'm new too and was wondering the exact same thing.

Jim Shunamon

Sorry, I don't mean to go offside here, new member, and I'm just wondering what the release schedule is like. I see that Jack posted "Let's Learn About Diminished Chords" on Youtube yesterday. Will the files and backing tracks be available soon? Or they already here and I have to dig through the archive?

Steve Furey

Well explained and valued concepts.

Jim Moore

Thank you! The information that you present is very logical. I just need to examine your past Patreon posts to glean what I need. Keep em coming.

Michael

Will do!

Hey Michael, the stuff here on patreon goes along with my youtube. So none of it's really sequential. I jump around a lot to keep it fresh and appeal to all different types of players and different levels. For more fundamental stuff, check out any of the lessons that say 'an introduction to' or 'basics.' And for more in-depth, sequential course material, check out my courses with Brett Papa. Thanks man!

Really like when you pick a tune to focus on. Hope you'll more of this in the future!

Lee Gesmer

Great example of your approach to improv. Could you, would you PLEASE organize sequentially a logical order of your online lessons so your Patreon subscribers can improve our playing. I understand your “Getting the most out of practice” lesson but I have a ways to go before I’m in position, playing wise, to benefit from it.

Michael

Thanks Jack for another excellent lesson! Forgive me if you have shared this previously with your Patreon members, but can you comment (or point me to the videos) about your instrument, strings, volume/tine settings and amplifiers/settings (treble, bass, mid, reverb, etc.)? Great jazz sound! I also have an ES335… with 57 classic humbucker pickups. I am currently using 10 gauge Diaddario chromes.

Jack
