Swing Blues Solo

Swing Blues Solo

Hi Jack. This is a great stuff. However, there is a lot of sophistication here for an 8 minute lesson. The tabs are helpful, but a longer video on this with a more detailed breakdown of the solos would be helpful for someone at my level. :-)

and some ii-V-1 ish stuff

I think he's playing a D altered 5 arpeggio?

Nice lesson! But what´s going on at bar 11 and 12 (0:19 to 0:22), especially over the E7 and D7 chord? Sounds very nice, but what is it in relation to the chords?

Michael

This lesson is pure goldust Jack. Many thanks, the videos and GP files are such powerful learning tools. I joined your Patreon about 6 weeks ago, having been mesmerized by your instructional YouTube Videos. I'm like a kid in candy store, albeit, a 74 year old kid! So many great videos and ideas, it's hard to know where to start. I work a lot on jazz standards - am probably between intermediate, 'slightly' advanced, so I understand and am able for your stuff. My goal is to naturally infuse some outside notes ( Altered, Dim, Lydian Dom, etc) into my playing style. I've also got your Shades of Blues TF Course but have held back on it as I feel working on some key videos of yours will be a good prep for the Blues course. I've worked my way through the Grant Green 3 licks and Solo and loved it, so am excited to continue in the same vein with this latest Swing Blues. Any suggestion on how to select, or in any particular order from your YouTube/Patreon lessons - I'm no spring chicken but am very interested in learning, though conscious of using the time I have left to the max. Thanks again.. Eugene
