Soloing Over Minor Changes!

Soloing Over Minor Changes!

Interesting idea. Certainly with Am being the relative minor of the key of C Major where indeed G7 would the the 5 chord (dominant). I’ve been looking at this as the E7 is a 5th away from Am and when you promote it to a dominant chord from the stand Em7 it has a great pull back to Am. Thanks for the thought on this one.

I would assume because the 7th (G) is the dominant chord in the key of Am. The E would be a Emin7 in that key.

Hey Jack, why would the E7 be a secondary dominant chord? I’d think it would be considered the (primary?) dominant chord since it’s leading back to the tonic of Am. Just wondering. Thanks.

hiya, sounds great, will there be diagrams for the arpeggios?

Jack, your laidback teaching style and your lessons have transformed my playing and opened up the fretboard to this 71 year old player. Watching your lessons has broken me out the minor pentatonic blues box. Your tone and articulation are so clean and clear, it’s something all guitarists should aspire to. Thank you for sharing your musical knowledge to the world.
