Someone on reddit asked about the rhythms going on at 6:58 in this song

It was weird enough to try and figure out and it's hilariously crafted, I'd like you to try figuring it out on your own before you see my best guess.
After about an hour and some liberal usage of the imbedded slow-down function in YouTube's player, I was able to deduce that there are two different patterns going on here. The rhythm pattern itself is in 17/16 and looks like the attached picture.
But the note sequence is only 6 notes long. The guitars/bass do
B - C# - E - B - C# - Eb
So we exhaust our 6 note phrase before we end our first measure of 17/16, and it repeats early in the measure, changing where the note lengths fall on each pitch and transforming the feel of the riff.
Then to make matters worse, the drummer starts plowing away at steady quarter notes on the high hat.
What a glorious mess :)
