You've funded livestreams!
Added 2019-01-13 18:13:21 +0000 UTCI seem to be making stuff harder and harder for myself on my normal videos by pushing for higher and higher quality and content and editing. I like this process- but I do worry about the time in between videos, so Im hoping that I can still provide you all with some great info and lessons without long stretches of time in between.
One royal pain I've had since day one of trying to livestream is to get the audio out of my DAW to livestreaming correctly without latency. I want to do live lessons on improv, composition, effects chains, production, etc. But after an embarassing amount of wasted time on getting it to work, I've realized the only real solution is to purchase a laptop that will be a dedicated livestreaming device and can accept input from my interfaces output directly
Tomorrow I'm taking a 3 day vacation (my first since quitting my job to do music!) to visit some family in Vegas, then when I return I'll be purchasing a laptop with your donations and getting my livestream setup properly configured. The first priority is to finish my extremely detailed polyrhythm video (it's going to be insane if you're unfamiliar with the concept, but even if you're learned on the topic I bet you'll pick up some things), but then after I will start doing test runs on either Twitch or a secondary YouTube channel.
I keep zero to little presence on social media besides YT and a little Twitter, so I think it might be wise to try to extend out to Twitch but we shall see how things go. I will keep you all posted as to my streaming schedule as soon as I get the technical details resolved. I expect to get everything 100% ironed out by February 1st so you should expect to start seeing a lot more content then.
