FWA 2024 Drawings

I'm back from Furry Weekend Atlanta.

I'm kind of shocked that I was considering not attending this convention, this year was absolutely spectacular, I really loved it! It was such an enjoyable experience!

Not many could really see me at all, I got to be most of the convention in a secret fursuit, which made my experience way more enjoyable. I don't know how many of you have been reading my journals from long ago. You may remember that once, during one of my journals telling my experience at BLFC, I had mentioned I was a very solitary dude during conventions, that I never stick with a specific group of people, I tended to be alone and hanging out with people from time to time but not making specific plans with anyone, and going out in fursuit by my own, and that I actually liked that experience more, because I could feel more free or doing whatever I wanted, attend panels that I wanted and not waiting for others.

Well, this year (not only this convention) that situation has been kind of different, I've started hanging out with a specific group of friends, who I stick with them most of the convention, and we agree when we are going in fursuit, making silly and specific plans (with room for a lot of improvisation, of course), which has been a very new experience for me, despite being attending furry conventions for a decade (this TFF was my 50th convention, so FWA was my 51st), and I had never experienced how was to be all time with friends during a furry convention. Of course I've hanged out with friends from the very beginning and I've made many friends during the conventions I've attended, but I had never stick with the same group during a whole event, and it started at MFF 2023 when I was only hanging out with one friend, and this FWA I was hanging all the time with my roomies and the same group of friends, which in some way, it enhanced my experience, especially at fursuiting, it is sharing experiences and making like a family (of course being open all the time to hang out with others). It was definitely special!

And now... about Artists Alley, I was very lucky to be chosen in the lottery for Friday, it was precisely the day I wanted to be in the alley, indeed I was wanting to be the only day to be working at the convention. I took 6 slots of commissions (this time I was very strict for not accepting more). And I really don't know how before I was able to take so many, I was checking my files from previous conventions... last FWA I took 12 slots, and at AC 2016 I took 19, and I was able to finish them all during the same convention. This FWA I only took 6 and I struggled on Saturday night finishing the last 2. (I confess that I was super lazy to finish the very last one, which, in this Patreon post, is the first one that I'm showing, the one for Reno and Dupe, but it ended up being my favorite of all).
It was so difficult for me to say no to some, there were two guys with super cute characters and I was tempting so badly to say yes to them (I was even considering taking them as "to take home", but I still have so many things to do at home that I resisted to even offering). But I had very nice experiences, excessively nice experiences, with the only 6 I took. One of them was about to design her character (The one for Winnie) and he was in tiers when she saw her character turned to life. Similar reaction was with Aiden Rex Ford, he started crying when he got to see the final picture done, and he gave me a very tight hug, later he sent me a message telling me how special this picture was for him. Same with Reno and Dupe, telling me it was a dream from many years ago to have a picture done by me. These kind of comments and reactions are way too special for me, and they touch me and encourage me to keep doing what I do.
