I'm sorry for the lack of posts during all these weeks, and I think it was noticeable, it happened a big drop of supporters, it is definitely going to be a hard beginning of the year.
I'm currently in a family trip to China, so internet has been intermittent and sometimes difficult to get, but it has been good to me so I've been able to disconnect a really lot, it has been a very helpful time off (despite I'm still working on many illustrations here, that, once again, I can't share not even WIPs so far, but you will see eventually).
It's my first time in Asia, and it has been an absolutely amazing trip, I've been taking hundreds of pictures, and since I'm visiting relatives I've been going where locals go and what locals do (but of course I've escaped to do a bunch of tourist stuff). Culture is very different and sometimes I don't know if I'm doing something right or wrong (especially when I decide to go somewhere by my own) and I think that has been the most interesting part of this experience, it has been challenging the language barrier.
Another awesome thing is that they really love pandas here :D I've seen sooo many pandas pictures, I can't complain! (But my goal is to see a real panda, sadly I'm so far away from Sichuan, but some day I will return and see pandas, it is a life goal)
So far I can show you a commission I had to finish during the trip because it was for Christmas, and it is a present from Rabid Rabbit to Pique. And all the commissions I got to do during this past MFF, that mostly I attended just to work (I needed money, especially for this trip where I am).
The Art Show was a big success!! I even received the attendees choice award for the piece "No Pictures!?" (The red panda acrylics that I made over the book). I don't have such award with me because it was too big and I couldn't carry with it to China, so a friend is holding it for me (Thaaanks!), so I haven't even seen the award very well, I just received it, thanked for it, and immediately after they were already wrapping it and packing it, so I couldn't even appreciate how it looked.
Oh yeah.. it is going to be Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
It's so weird that I'm in a country where Christmas is not celebrated so there are no Christmas lights and barely Christmas decorations at all, only in some certain places and especially on malls, but out of it, there is not an aggressive reminder that Christmas is coming, and I think I prefer it like this. Despite I like Christmas, I don't like how everything reminds you super aggressively that Christmas is here (But even here I couldn't be saved from the Mariah Carey song, for some reason that song is liked to be played on some stores here).
The commissions I got to do at MFF were for:
1- Graedius (the skunk)
2-Echo Shark
3-Tycloud
4-Arkady
5-Beeton
6-Cyberblade
7-Cinnabar
8-GlitteringSnow
9-Jun Ryu
10-BleuSomme
And I just realized there was a commission I didn't take a picture X_X but I'm already requesting this person to share me a photo or a scan of it.
And here the description for the piece of Pique and Rabid Rabbit:
Pique wakes up in the morning directly to the tree, and as the little bunny unwraps his gift, he discovers a shiny new drum set. With no hesitation, Pique starts banging away, creating a chaotic symphony of noise. His dad, with a tender smile and his ears discreetly covered, watches his son, happy to see him happy, worried for the upcoming loud days.
Gift from Rabid Rabbit to Pique.
Merry Christmas!!
And you can see the full time-lapse process video attached on this post :D
------
I really hope I can do a post before this year ends, I'm working on some pictures that I definitely want to share here and I have my hopes I will finish them soon.
*panda loves*
