Panda + Viola + Zander & Skylar + Suka WIP

Hello, my dear friends!!!

As you can see, this year I've been very productive, I guess compensating all I didn't during 2023 and 2024 (And sadly, I still have a lot in my queue, that it seems like neverending, especially on those promised rewards from Patreon that are even from 2022, I don't forget about them, I will work on them!)

So you are getting to see a bunch of artwork comparing of what I was sharing on the past two years, sadly there is only the half of you here on Patreon, during these two years so many Patreons left, and with good reasons, I was not doing rewards anymore (which was the main hook for being here), plus I was sharing like one post every month (even there were a couple of months I was sharing nothing, some of you even claimed me about it). Despite still having an issue with the arm (it is not 100% healed), I've learned how to balance work with breaks and knowing when to stop, so I don't keep hurting my arm and I keep being productive without overworking, at least not overworking as much as I was doing before, because I think I still have this workaholic thing over me that I can't help.

By the way, not sure if many people didn't see the previous posts about the Clubhouse pin, because this has been the year that least people have claiming their pin D:

Check that post and apply for a collectible pin from the Clubhouse, remember it is something completely exclusive for Patreons, it is not for sale anywhere else, not even at conventions:

If you are supporting me from $1 to $8 monthly:

And now... to talk about the pictures I'm sharing with all of you this time!

PANDA BEAAAR!!! Is that me? Nah, it is just a panda bear! I was wanting to paint a panda bear, as a tribute of the importance pandas are to me. Also since the physical calendar of the current year I have hanged on my wall, for some reason, reminded me that March 16th is the National Panda Day (National from where? I don't think from Mexico, I guess from USA, but let's say it is a World Panda Day, and let's celebrate it!), so it is a good excuse to paint one of these stupid silly bears that to me have turned in something incredibly important in my life. I really feel like one of them, and this is something that probably I won't post when I post publicly:

Panda bears are a species that barely have skills, many people have discussed lately how surprising is that these animals are not extinct yet and many wonder how they can survive the wild, they are incredibly shy and clumsy, they prefer to run away before facing any fight (you rarely see a fight among pandas in the wild, they always run away when they see each other, despite being very territorial), so there has been a collective hate among this species and the effort of many scientists to keep preserving this species, when at this point they would have been extincted if it was not because human intervension (also truth is that human kept pushing natural habitat away, making them cornered into their own exctintion). But for some reason, people consider them superficially cute, they got to be the most popular animal in zoos just because how cute they are, nothing else, they just sleep and eat, well, when they are cubs they play and they are more fun to see, but they don't even want to have any relation among them.

It has been funny how I can represent my life as well with all that said. It was me, when I was 9 years old, that I decided pandas were going to be my animal, but I turned to be built as they are, that clumsy unskilled person, that somehow, by a luck hit, just because drawing cute at the right time, became popular; being hate for a bunch but liked by so many others just because cute art, when in reality, I still feel like in a zoo, doing non interesting things but drawing cute. Oh! And always running away from my own problems, not wanting to face them, since I just want to go over my tree to keep doing my own stuff.

I'm totally a panda bear, and despite at this point I consdier raccoons as my most favorite species, I would never want to deny that 27 years ago it was me who decided to be a panda. There are, of course, many more highlights of being a panda bear, it's always me seeing the negative side and comparing myself with those minus aspects of them, but I'm sure there are many other reasons why it is cool to be a panda.

Aaaaanyway, that painting was done with acrylics, I will exhibit it at the Texas Furry Fiesta art show, I also painted the sides of the frame because it looked cool, and I share you the scanned version. Also I recorded a time-lapse video with my phone, that for some reason my phone made a 22 seconds video, TOO SHORT!! I guess because it took me only 3 hours to complete that painting, not sure if it is a general average that a timelapse made with an iphone lasts 8 second per hour, I kind of remember doing a time lapse of a sunset and it lasted 30 seconds, I'm very sure that sunset didn't last 5 hours! So I really don't understand how exactly that phone makes time-lapses, there are no settings where you can tell how many photos per second it should take, I tried to search for any kind of settings on that mode. But well, that's the video I could get, you can download it on the attached files on this post.

I'm also sharing another quick commission drawing, this time for Viola and Mortimer, reading a big book together. You can also download the full video of the process of it.

Zander and Skylar walking on Santa Cruz, that one was made with color markers and inks, I didn't record the process of it because it was made in many moments, I was taking that piece from here to there and working on it whenever I could.

And more WIPs of the eternal stickers pack I'm working for Suka, that I haven't finished, aaah!! (I owe so many stickers pack, ugh!)

That's it!

Thank you for keep being with me, I truly appreciate it, I know life is getting more and more expensive generally in the world, and despite this world is turning so chaotic, you are still here, supporting this silly artist, who is also dealing with expensive expenses of daily life, disguising this horrible world with colors and cute characters, wanting to escape from time to time to better worlds. (Talking about that, I've been continuing but super slowly to work on Art & Biro Chapter 2, but to the point that is not worthy to show advances because there are not many, but aaaah, so frustrating how few time I have to also work on that, but I've been trying my best. Hint with some wink winks: if I get more Patreons, there are more chances I can work faster on that, since I would need to worry less for commissions, so tell your friends!)

Love you all!

Paco
