Changes to the Project & Patreon

Before I get to the announcements on decisions we made for the game, I want to thank you all so much for your outstanding support. We never expected to see so much excitement and love for our game this early on and it's really overwhelming in a positive way. Just thinking about not only the financial but also other kinds of support like watching our stream, chatting on Discord or giving us feedback on the game motivates us immensely.
Without further ado I want to get to the announcements we have to make today and there will be plenty. So please make sure to read the full post!

Changes for updates, demos and the full game

First of all the most important part of this announcement. We've made the decision to change the way the game is going to be sold. This is something that we have even heard from our supporters and wanted to change for the sake of the projects stability.
The full version of the game will not be free to the public.
At the time Patreon is basically the only source of income the project has besides straight up donations and there has been quite some worry about that. That is why we made the decision to sell the final game for around $12 when it comes out.
That being said we do not want anyone to feel wronged by this decision so we also have some other measurements in place. The free, public updates will continue on until the first demo is completed. Only after that will we move to Patron-only updates. As for everyone that already supported us on Patreon we want to thank you as well. Anyone that has a total pledge amount of $10 will get a key of the game when it comes out, so you do not have to pay for it yourself!

Changes to Patreon

The first change to Patreon is one that will not affect anyone that is already a patron!
We are going to change our Patreon to charge up front. As already stated, this changes nothing for existing patrons. So why do we want to implement it? Well, we've come to notice that a big amount of people join our Patreon to look at the content and delete their pledge just before their first payment has to be made. Some even do so for multiple months in a row. This change is merely to ensure that nobody that isn't paying what they are supposed to, sees the content behind the paywall. We were waiting on this decision to see if it is needed but month after month of seeing the same thing happen got us to finally go this step. This change will be put in place after the usual payments at the start of next month. This is to ensure that nobody experiences any issues.

The other change we made to our Patreon is a much more simple one. There have been requests to add new tiers into the mix and we have done just that. The Bold Captain, Sharp Sergeant and Classy Commissioner tiers have been added! All with their own nice pictures to represent them. These were made for people that want to support us at a higher amount, but include no special/tier specific rewards besides the ones the previous ones offer as well. So please only choose them in the case you want to support us even beyond the previous tiers.

Changes to workflow

Okay, last one! Thanks for reading this very long announcement post this far. We're almost through it all.
As you know, currently every enemy in the game is planned to have one game over scene and one 18+ scene when you get caught. The thing is that the scene when you get caught always has 3 phases to it. You've seen it with the fairy and you may have seen it with the wolf. We want to make the decision to reduce these phases down to one animation for now. That means 1 animation for when you get caught (+climax animation) while the game over animation stays the way it is. This is to speed up progress on other things like backgrounds, UI and other game mechanics. It is important to note that this will not mean these animations will be gone forever. Let's say we add everything we want to add to the demo, including a boss fight and we're now happy with where it is, then this will be the point where we will most likely add these animations in. That means while Masker and I polish the demo in other ways like bug fixes, QoL changes and other adjustments, Veila will work hard to implement those extra animations. We do understand that a lot of you really enjoy the high variety of animations and want to see them as early as possible, which is why we will make a poll once this is posted. If we notice that a big amount of people are not happy with a decision like this, we will reconsider it but for us it seems like a logical solution that will make everyone happy and progress the game faster.

Will there be a mechanic that allows for 2 different enemies to contact you and get into an H-scene? Most likely not, no. Will there be a scene with more than one girl? For sure!

Well the 1 H scene per girl is fine and will make the game progress faster tho as long as it's still possible to get H by 2 girls at some point thats still fine with me CX

I was actually thinking about how Patreon really creates that sort of "Grubhub Ghost Tip" situation a few days ago and while checking updates and sincerely hoped it isn't happening to people :(
