Yo!
While Veila is showing visual progress in her streams, there hasn't been an update in quite some time about the back-end progress and I'm here to change that.
I once mentioned a quality of life update including the clue system and since then I've been working on it.
The following things will be added/changed in the next build:
New content:
- The clue system, like it was teased before.
- For now, all enemies sometimes drop a clue of their own specific set randomly and can be equipped for bonus stats
- A menu allowing you to choose and play the levels of all former versions, so there is no need to keep the old versions anymore. Of course you can, if for whatever reason you want to
- A save file menu accessible in the main menu, which allows you to manually get rid of all save files this game produces (so no longer F1-F4 title-screen nonsense)
- A menu allowing you to change the resolution of the game (resolution changes are highly experimental btw, expect the jank)
Changed content:
- Save data is now mostly stored in files (inventory, clues, key-binds) and only minimally in registry values (enemy & audio) and scriptable-objects
- Audio menu now has sliders
- Proper camera bounds and zoom for all old (and future) levels and areas
- Updated background parallax for all levels and areas
- Pressing down while wall-sliding makes you go faster
- Save room in the old city now has an explanation
- Vampire is no longer invulnerable when resetting to her dedicated area
- There is something new to find in the old city, although it requires a "trick" to reach it
- Health and Damage values for all entities adjusted
Bug Fixes:
- Black screen issue when transitioning from main menu to game should be solved now, with the changes to the save file management
Other things:
- I know people have asked to make all dialogue files accessible for translation purposes, but it will require a rework of how dialogue is being processed and stored. This has to wait for another day.
- I probably forgot something ... and will mention it next post
I know it has been a long time, so let's see if we can manage to have updates a bit more frequent again ... again².
Expect the build to be ready to play in the next 1-2 update posts I make, I promise this one won't take months.
As always, thank you very much for being with us - especially to those who support us!
