Hello all,
Hope you enjoyed the publication of the Battle for Central Norway video last week. After a slow start it looks to have been picked up more by the algorithm, so that's positive.
What I want to talk about today are my plans for the next few months or so, taking us up to Christmas. I am hoping, finally, to achieve two videos a month, starting in October. Let's run through what each video might contain.
13th October: So this is going to be a video on the Maginot Line, and why it was actually a much more sensible and successful idea than people give it credit. We are going to discuss its origins, and why the French planned for WW2 in the way they did. This video is about to start its animation stage.
27th October: The final video in the Norway 1940 series, telling the story of the Siege of Narvik. We'll also summarise the whole campaign at the end, to bring this series to a conclusion. Research done, script writing starting soon.
10th November: This is currently an open slot, so I am open to ideas on what you'd like me to do. I have some, based on the poll I ran in July (wow was it that long ago?). I will caution here that if work for the videos either side of this one take longer than expected, this video slot is the one that will be cut.
24th November: Ah, so I actually can't talk too much about this video yet. It's finalised what it will be, but it needs to remain secret for now. If you are curious, search 'Operation Odysseus' on twitter.
8th December: The first video in the D-Day series that I have mentioned before. This video will likely cover some of the deception tactics used to confuse the Germans, and talk about the preparations for the landings.
22nd December: The final video before Christmas, and it will be a big one. This video will follow the D-Day landings through the entirety of 6th June 1944, from start to finish.
What do you think?
I've been wanting to get up to this quantity of videos for some time, but I'm hoping that it will be possible due to a major hardware upgrade I am planning on doing, which will dramatically speed up animationa and render times. This upgrade, a new PC, is possible thanks to your help via Patreon, so thank you very much.
