Patreon Update 7th December - Lots to Discuss

Hello everyone!
Been a little while since I did a Patreon update, so here’s some reflections on the last couple of weeks and information about future plans.
Hope you all enjoyed the Sealion video last week, and I’m sure you can’t have failed to spot the War Thunder sponsorship it carried. Since I started this channel and Patreon page I like to think I’ve been pretty up front about wanting to do this as a job, and if that's going to be viable then sponsorships will have to form a big part of that, to make ends meet.
My feeling at the moment is I will aim for one video a month carrying a sponsorship, with the second (and third in months where there is three) being sponsor free. I’m not out to try and sponsor every video going, because ultimately there are some where I want a real immersive experience for the viewer.
So what does this mean in the short term?
Well I’m going to make some adjustments to the order of videos I am producing- this month is going to be a rarity in that it will have another probably-sponsored video, scheduled for release on December 23rd. This will be a documentary on the Battle of Jutland, acting as a nice follow up to the Dreadnought video a couple of weeks ago. I am just waiting for confirmation on the sponsor, but the video will happen regardless.
Now, those among you who have followed these updates will know that there is supposed to be a D-Day series starting this month. I am going to instead start this series in January, for a number of reasons:
1. More time to research the events: I want to have the narrative flow nicely from one video in this series to the next, so getting more research done will give me more ‘foresight’ in scripting the videos
2. No sponsorship on these videos: the benefit of doing an extra sponsorship this month is that I will not do one in January- we will be getting stuck into the narrative of the D-Day landings and beyond.
3. Shorter time between the episodes; at the very most I could have gotten only one video in this series out before Christmas, and I would rather they came out together.
My intention is that none of the four videos in the D-Day series will carry sponsorships, and they will be structured in a way that allows me to stitch them together into a single 45minute long documentary. Sponsored videos (from February onwards) will be constructed slightly differently, more along the lines of the Dreadnought, Maginot Line and Sealion videos.
2019 Plans
We are rapidly approaching the end of 2018, and I will have a big 'year in review' post in the next fortnight or so. 2019 will be a big year for me and I have lots of things planned- more controversial arguments (Lend Lease was actually very important you guys), the opening of a merchandise store with cool posters illustrating historical events, and more.
All of this is only possible with the support you give me and I can categorically say I would not be in a position to do sponsorships and think about Historigraph as a career without those of you who have backed me from the start and those of you who have joined since. I am completely in your debt, so thank you. There will absolutely be some more and better rewards on Patreon, very soon.
As always, any comment or queries, let me know down below!
