Video Updates - 8th March

Hello everyone!

Time for a quick update on where I am with various video projects.

The next video, as you might know from the poll the other week, will be entitled 'The Phoney War: Actually Not Phoney', and will discuss the myth of the 'phoney war'; how it developed, why it still gets traction today, and so on.

This is slated for release on Saturday 16th March.

Now the video that comes next is a little unsure, because its one that I want to release to coincide with Brexit taking place (currently 29th March).

Now don't worry, this isn't some political video, but its going to be looking at why WW2 gets brought up so much in the context of debates in the UK about Europe.

In the referendum three years ago both Remain and Leave campaigns sought to use Churchill/WW2 as a rhetorical device to increase their support, in a manifestation of what is a bit of a cultural obsession for Brits.

This is an area of history extremely close to my heart as its what I wrote my dissertation on at university. The uncertainty of the release date for this is simply dependent on whether or not politicians decide to extend article 50 next week, so we'll see what happens.

If its not the above, the next video after the Phoney War will be 'Lend Lease: Actually Very Important', which will be produced in April.

The D-Day series is still very much in the works, I am doing a bit of reading here and there when I get a chance. It will probably make an appearance sometime into Q2.

I am looking into books at the moment to research the Greek campaign 1940/41, with a view to making at least one video on this. Let me know if you have any recommendations.#-
