Completing the Malaya Series + what's next
Added 2021-07-15 09:40:39 +0000 UTCHi everyone!
Hope you're all keeping well. Here's a mid July-update on what's happening on historgraph at the moment.
At the start of this month I released the Battle of Heligoland Bight video. I was quite happy how the video turned out in technical terms, it had some very accurate plotting of the ships involved, but unfortunately the video itself hasn't performed very well on YouTube. I'm not entirely sure of the reason why, but I suspect the topic perhaps wasn't as interesting for some audience members as some other videos.
Not every video can be a raging success though, so we move on to what's next.

The answer to that question in short is: the conclusion to the Malayan series. There will be two videos to round out the series:
Malaya 4 will release on 31st July and will deal with all the events between the Battle of Jitra and the start of the Siege of Singapore in February 1942
Malaya 5 will release on approximately the 21st August and will focus on the Battle for Singapore in detail.
You can probably see from this schedule that I've slowed the pace somewhat from the video-every-two-weeks rate I was going at through June. I want to see if increasing the amount of time each video is worked on yields a big increase in quality.
I think quality-over-quantity has been a big feature of Historigraph through the years so I want to stick to that mantra and try to avoid having to rush to complete videos as much as possible.

Once the Malayan series is finished, I'm going to be looking at doing a couple of videos on the eastern front of WW2 in September/October.
The most likely candidates for this are the Warsaw Rising and Operation Spring Awakening, but I'll have more to say about those videos once research gets into full swing for them.

Historigraph Extra
Something I'll mention here as well is my plans to start up an 'extra' channel, where I upload some content that doesn't quite make it into the main video, as well as channel updates and any other additional content that I come up with that isn't too time consuming to make.
You can find the channel here if you want to subscribe to it https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpIjLJ6XfEj5rtU2dtZkV9Q
