Fall of Singapore, Eastern Front Autumn Videos

Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a good summer, and I hope you enjoyed the most recent Malayan video! It hasn't performed particularly well on the views front, but I hope it added to your enjoyment of the series nonetheless.

It was the penultimate video in that series, and at the end of next week I'll be publishing its big conclusion- The Fall of Singapore

In this video we'll look at the battle for Singapore island itself (pictured above), which raged for about a week in February 1942 before the eventual Japanese victory.

Once it is finished, I am thinking about stitching all the parts of the Malaya series together into a 'full series' video like other YouTube history channels have done in the past- let me know if you would like that.

There will also be another Historigraph Extra video coming out soon, which will cover an overview of ABDACOM, the ill-fated unified allied command that ran things in South East Asia at the start of 1942. There are a few interesting points which are relevant for the Malayan campaign and also to an upcoming video I'm thinking about doing on the Battle for the Java Sea.

Let me know your thoughts on that - and also on the Extra videos as a whole. Some commenters have suggested that I should upload them on the main channel, but I'm not so sure.

Eastern Front Autumn

As I mentioned on a community post the other week, I'll be doing a couple of videos on the eastern front in the autumn.

One of these will round off the Hungary series, with Operation Spring Awakening, Germany's last offensive of the war in March 1945.

The other will be about the Warsaw Rising, a tale of heroism and brutality in the summer of 1944.

Let me know anything you think I should cover in particular in these videos!

As always, I'm here for any feedback you guys have- either in the comments or you can message me directly.

Thanks for your ongoing support of the videos :)

I really enjoyed the video. I imagine the lower views might just be that it's difficult to title that kind of thing in a way that's sort of "click-baity" if that's the right term. I think that's probably also true for the Heligoland Bight video, which was one of my favourite videos, but doesn't have the kind of title that makes people think "Oh yeah I've heard of this". I guess that's just the case for somewhat esoteric parts of history, and I'm not sure if there's would be a solution to that. Superb videos nonetheless, I'm really enjoying the greater frequency.
