June Updates
Added 2023-06-13 13:00:19 +0000 UTCHi everyone!
Apologies its been a little while since the last update. The last couple of videos we released have done quite poorly, and it took be a while to get my head back in gear to write and update on here. I tend to take it quite personally when we have projects that don't meet expectations, especially on a video we poured hundreds of hours into like the Jutland night battle one.
It's also been a frustrating couple of weeks because it looks like the second part of the Battle of the Atlantic series may never see the light of day - we're currently unable to render it out without crashing or freezing. We spent a bunch of time trying to work out what the issue was, but without any progress so far. Considering that the first one in the series performed so poorly, I've decided at the moment that its not worth continuing to plow time and money into chasing a fix, when we can spend that just making other videos.
If anyone is an expert on after effects and is able to offer a fix, please do get in touch.
Other than that disappointment I've been working on researching for series that we're planning for the summer/autumn, the most developed of which is:
Forrestal
First among these is a video we're working on covering the fire onboard the carrier US Forrestal on July 29th 1967. It was the US Navy's largest single loss of life since WW2 and is a fascinating story.
This video is being designed to fit into a later series on the Vietnam war, which I've begun major research on in the last few weeks.
The Forrestal video has a completed script and nearly complete 2D assets, so we'll be moving into animation soon.
Not sure exactly when it will be done, hopefully in July.

Hope to have more to share on that soon, as well as other videos that are in the pipeline that I haven't mentioned here yet!

I wanted to write another note. I am one of those that loved your video about shinano. That’s an awesome story. You wrote and depicted it so very well. Captain Enrights book is a wonderful book and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I would also be interested in learning more about John Paul Jones how he did not give up the fight until the battle was won.
2023-07-10 10:35:09 +0000 UTCBe encouraged! I am a Christian so what I have I can offer you. It is understandable that we get discouraged in life although that can help us grow and give us greater tools for living. I pray you know the Lord. The Bible offers this comfort: “Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not into your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6. God loves you God sees you God hears your prayers and your cries even before you sought him. Seek him first and all else will be added. Matthew 6.33. God has put something in your heart will fulfill your purpose in him. Ask him for his help on your videos ask him for his help on every little thing because he gives it freely and immediately. I have prayed for you. Thank you for your wonderful content!
2023-07-10 10:28:24 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the video about the night battle during Jutland. It gave me a feeling for the chaos due to the level of communications and sensor technology of the time. I've not got that perspective from the other, less detailed, accounts of Jutland, so good on you for producing something a bit different from the herd. Sad it did not rank in the YouTube recommendations, but it was good content. Your idea of a Vietnam series sounds interesting, the Falkland series was very good, so looking forward to more of your videos.
2023-06-14 05:58:26 +0000 UTCI just watched some of the videos regarding the battles of the Atlantic, and they were excellent as always! The reason I haven't been watching your videos the last couple of months was because they didn't show up on my YouTube recommendations. I noticed YouTube will adjust its recommendations depending on what videos I have watched recently, so send us more emails as new videos come up so I'll check them out.
