YCHs & Auctions Overview

Hey all! I’d like to go over some info and rules around New Hire’s in-game character cameos.

Throughout development of New Hire, Executive patrons have the chance to bid on YCH character auctions to get their fursona in the game. These auctions are announced here on Patreon and bidding happens in the comments of the YCH post.

What are the rules?

YCHs auctions are posted after the YCH in question first appears in the newest build of the game. For example, the first YCH, the IT Employee, is available to bid on because that character appeared in build 0.1.2 released last month.
Bidders must have already been patrons for four months prior to the auction or continue to be patrons after the auction until four months have been reached to keep your slot and character cameo. This helps prevent auction sniping.
If the winning bidder doesn’t follow the rule above, or for whatever reason forfeits their winning bid, the YCH goes to the next highest bidder.
As many details as possible about the presence of a YCH and the number of scenes the YCH appears in will be revealed in the auction post. Not all details are available when characters are sold because 1) This avoids spoilers for later gameplay and 2) The YCH could have a more major role than currently planned. Generally, I won’t promise a huge role then later decide to diminish it — it would only be adding more scenes the YCH appears in than originally planned (with the auction winner’s agreement). All details, changes, and updates will be communicated directly to the winning patron.
If you win an auction, you cannot bid on another auction unless you have another character. it wouldn’t make sense to have a single sona appear twice as two different characters.
Characters must be anthropomorphic, non-human fursonas. The world of New Hire has only anthropomorphic animals.
