Modbury Community Dig: Church Pew - 3D Model

Wow, what an episode! But there's still so much more to come as the story continues in Day 2, tomorrow at 7pm BST.

Once again we've been treated to some incredible photogrammetry models from the Shadow Tor team (supported by the University of Plymouth).

Here's one of our favourites, the church pew in St George's Church, which was possibly worked on by Vincent Stitson.

View the model on Sketchfab HERE.

Modbury Community Dig: Church Pew - 3D Model

Comments

I greatly enjoyed the Modbury Dig! There were great contributions from all of the archaeologists. I'd like to give another shout out to Matt "Bear" Clark for the 3D modelling, especially of what the Priory may have looked like, next to the church. And nice birds flying around :-). It is a mystery why there are so few medieval buildings left in Modbury. It's hard to imagine that the Civil War battles caused that much damage. Perhaps there were other reasons why many of the medieval buildings were torn down and rebuilt. A further research project for young historians :-).
