Daily Livestreams

Sutton June continues, and we're delighted to be transmitting daily livestreams from the site. These streams are an opportunity to share a snapshot of the action in real time as it unfolds, and will be in addition to the main coverage we are also capturing.

PLEASE NOTE:

UPDATE: Today we are joined by Tim Taylor and Stewart Ainsworth for a quick chat.

360-vision

This will be a 360-degree livestream, allowing you to rotate and explore the footage from every angle.

While watching the video on a computer click and drag using the mouse or tracker pad: up, down, left and right to get a full 360-degree view in real time! You can also zoom in or out.

Depending on your connection speed, you may need to adjust the video quality by clicking on the cog icon at the bottom of the YouTube window.

If using a phone or other mobile device, it should work by simply rotating the screen.

It starts at about 5:30 in the stream

It looks like a good weather day. It was interesting to hear Stewart's theories on how the ship burials got there. Is this dig longer than the usual three days for Time Team?

Andy Quick

Could the ship have been disassembled and reassembled atop of the Hoo?

Nice dance steps, Tim.

land8innNinja 369

Did the Deben then have the exact same shape then as it does today?

Elizabeth Neill

This dig is so exciting that I certainly think it's kind to allow us to view more of it. It's thoughtful to include this "You Are There" feed.

Elizabeth Neill

I couldn't hear the talk between Tim and Stewart. I do like having a look around.

Bethanny Allain

So glad this is still here to watch! I am in Seattle and can't watch live, and am so glad I caught the talk between Tim and Stewart!!!

Fiona D

Been thinking that too

Loved the Tim and Stewart chat :) I’ve taken a screen shot of this with all the extra content listed on the side and put on my Facebook page in the hope that others join Patreon. So many people love Time Team - that’s obvious from the ‘public’ posts - they really don’t know what they are missing!

Bron Lloyd

good eye 😁

Patricia Amero

Great questions to ask in the Q&As

Patricia Amero

"GHZ 399", a fitting license plate for a car that seems to have a lot of transmitting and receiving equipment in it!

Mats Frånlund

Yes, David, I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps it was built on-site for the burial. With no evidence of wood in the original excavation it does bring that question to mind.

Janie Waters

Just found this at www.submerged.co.uk/sutton-hoo/ it mentions that the shops remains showed evidence of past repair probably suggesting that the ship had been used rather than purpose built for the burial, guess they did move the ship there, must have been a hurculean effort.

Rob Treen

I was having similar thoughts as to whether the boat was prefabricated and moved in parts. Other thoughts were is there any evidence that the boat was actually used on the water?

David Dearden

Cant help but wonder at the possibility of the ship having been built in situ just for the burial. Cant wait to find out if Stuart finds any evidence of how or where it was transported to site.

Rob Treen

Another great stream, nice to hear from Tim and Stewart. Watched it on my Oculus today for the real 360° experience 😁

Bob Pockney

God day to you all. Great tent!

Alan McMillan

Beautiful day for a dig today!

Stephanie Hogan

Stephen Walls

We're going live!

Stephanie Stewart

Love having it on in the background while working. Scaping is soothing??? Thanks for sharing with us

Stephanie Stewart

Loving these, thank you! We’ll be there to see it going on for real on Friday, I’m beyond excited!
