I think it is an abbreviation for "Ground Penetrating Radar" (funnily enough radar is also short for something).

Although I've yet to investigate the related links in the articles, I find it interesting that (despite the impressive level of preservation, esp in Valsgärde) there was no mention of finding oars or signs of sails in or near the mounds at either site. The article only states how many oarsmen there was space for on each boat. I have many questions... Thank you again 🙏 Cheers.
