Thank you so much for participating in the Q&A, Neil. I always enjoy listening to you talk about Roman tile kilns & villa complex archaeology, but hearing about the person who inspires so many others is a treat. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge, experience and passion for archaeology. I'm grateful for what you & Time Team have taught me over the years and I appreciate having this opportunity to tell you so on Patreon. Cheers from Yukon, Canada

This was so interesting thank you. I can still remember watching the discovery of the gold coin on the episode, so exciting! And yes, I would love Time Team to do a dig on at Hadrian’s Wall!

Julied123

Fabulous finds there all the time - obviously the writing tablets but the thousands of leather shoes and wooden objects from the anaerobic are my favourites, along with the glass beads and the complex layers of buildings over 7-800 years of occupation. Spine-tingling.

Fiona Drake

Visited for the first time in 2023 and actually witnessed a writing tablet being discovered! Returning in a couple of weeks.

Roger Mills

As a long time volunteer excavator at Vindolanda - I absolutely agree that Hadrians Wall archaeology is unbeatable!

Fiona Drake

I’m enjoying these commentaries. Hearing personal is fascinating. I would love to see more

Warren Feldman MD

Turkdean is a favourite of mine too. Wonder if they would ever get Jimmy and his GPR up there to get a really complete picture of the buildings

Mary-Helen Armour

Turkdean is my favorite villa, have rewatched episodes so often, including the live, I could probably recite them verbatim. Would love to see what else was discovered there over the years since. Would be lovely if TT reissued Big Roman Dig, Big Royal Dig, condensed and remastered!

Stephanie Stewart

Loved this. And yes, Time Team, can we please realise Neil's dream and do a new excavation on Hadrian's Wall.
