Shiki WIP

Unfortunately I didn't have the time to plan a Faye piece + I've been wanting to draw Shiki for a while (Senran Kagura is one of my guilty pleasures). Don't worry though, I have plans to draw an illustration featuring Faye next month.
I want to talk about some discoveries I've made. As you can see at the 3rd WIP, I blocked out the shadows. Last year, I usually block in the AO and gradients with the shadows while overlaying them with the flats. Today, I just paint the flats with minimal rendering and add the shadows along with the effects. This piece however, I thought about blocking in only the shadows like I would back then but without the rest cus' the flats already has them. Will elaborate further so stay tuned folks!
