And yes, the trade-tongue magic is my hand-wavium for this story. i did not want the logistics of establishing communication to get in the way of the story. And I really could see an advanced magic-wielding culture developing an enchanted version of Esperanto... in order to make money.
And yes, we finally have some more action. Did the tonal shift near the end come across clearly, or does it need reinforcing?
