I hope everyone is enjoying this alternate point of view, which was both challenging to do, but after a while pretty much wrote itself. Never fear, we will be shifting back to William soon.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from, but the WHO just updated the mortality rate for NCov-19 to 3.4%. Influenza has a mortality rate of around 0.1% Of the people that don't die, around 20% require hospitalization for severe complications, like viral pneumonia. It's true that for most people, it's little worse than an obnoxious cold, but for a significant fraction, it's a lot worse. I'm afraid it's going to kill a lot more people before it's done.

Unless your immune system is troubled by cancer meds or other stuff, it isn't particularly dangerous, just an obnoxious cold. It has a mortality rate lesser than the flu's one. If you aren't worried in winter or don't mind being arpund friends when they have the flu, then don't let the media let you get unnecesarily worried. That's jsut the media freaking people out. Just consider it a good signal to always get the flu vaccine if you can every year so not only you but those with poor immune systems are safer /enough doc talk... turning it off.
