A Wyrm for Weaver (1) - Free Crossover Fanfiction

Health issues have been improving slowly. I got smacked by my muse for the first time in years and decided to scribble out a crossover story idea that occurred to me a while back. Worm is owned by Wildbow so this is obviously not going to be charged for or behind any kind of paywall. I may end up posting it on Spacebattles if it keeps flowing. I appreciate everyone's persistence as I'm hopefully getting back into the groove again.

(To be more specific, I'm still recovering thing lost or impaired at the end of 2015. So for anyone dealing with cognitive deficits, keep at it!)

A Wyrm for Weaver

My memories are a bit confused. I remember the taking Karen to the prom, and realizing that there might be something beyond even the burgeoning friendship that grew out of ‘The Deal’. I remember walking along the lake afterwards, talking about the future.

Then I remember Arashi appearing. I remember charging at the bastard, only to meet a wall of sharp wind that cut through my tuxedo, lacerating the skin underneath. I clearly remember the gurgling scream as some winds slipped past me and Karen going down in an explosion of blood and viscera. Why didn’t she stay directly behind me? I remember rage flooding my mind, changing me, only to be overmatched again. The only edge I had was in maneuverability, so I decided to take him with me: crushing his eye and plunging both of us into the deep lake.

And then blackness.

I awoke to the smell of saltwater and icy cold water lapping at my calves. A large man in coveralls was turning me over and jumping back when I coughed.

“Damn, son, I was sure you’d OD-ed. But you don’t stink enough to be a Merchant,” he said warily. One hand rested on a heavy belt with a radio.

Glenridge was far away from any ocean, so I had no idea where I was. “I have no idea how I got here? And where am I?” as I struggled to my knees, trying to get away from the wave freezing my feet off.

“Damn, must have been a hell of a party then,” the guy laughed as he helped me up. “You don’t even remember how you got to the docks?”

“I don’t even remember travelling to the ocean, whichever one this is,” Rhiyen groused.

A snort. “Well then welcome to Brockton Bay.”

Assuming this is a crossover between Worm and Rhiyen's Deal (Matthew's original fiction that's been posted here before). I definitely need to re-read Rhiyen's Deal/Journey though. It's been awhile. Anyway, glad you're posting again, Matthew! Hope your health continues to improve!

I'm so glad your recovery is ongoing!

Not sure I recognize the other crossover, but a good start!
