TLDR: The way Souls Mix Tape will work is that we'll collect questions and discussion topics from our audience, and try to address as many as we can per episode. They can be anything from "How does Pyromancy work?" to "How many versions of Laurence were made during development?" to "What is the Brain of Mensis thinking about?
This will be an ongoing series, and we'll collect questions from our Patrons, Discord members, and YouTube comments. For the first few episodes, however, we will exclusively be asking our Patrons, and opening up to Discord and YouTube users after the series has been established. After that point, we will still be giving Patron questions a higher priority.
Feel free to ask us anything, and we hope you have fun messing with us.

One of fromsofts enduring obsessions is blindness/headlessness. Characters are constantly running around with their eyes covered or missing altogether and it doesn't seem to have a significant impact on their ability to move through the world at all. What is up with that? Why is blindness consistently treated as a non-issue?

George Martin was, IMO, clearly being hyperbolic when he said his lore took place 5,000 years before ER's main plot; nothing would at all resemble what came before if so. What timeline might the shattering to now instead be on, in that case? Decades, generations?

2024-08-09 08:17:58 +0000 UTCWere the Chalice Dungeons as they released (psuedo-procedural, "infinite", decoupled from Yharnam) always FromSoft's intention with Bloodborne, or were they aiming for something more like Elden Ring's world-integrated lil catacombs? Similarly, is there any indication that Elden Ring might have had procedural content serving that purpose at some stage of concept/development instead of the (largely bland) little dungeons we have now? Also, thanks so much for the podcast y'all are the best!

2024-08-09 08:13:12 +0000 UTCA bit outside the box (and long, sorry!), but what's Lordran's deal within the world of Dark Souls? Clearly people go there on pilgrimage and to seek specific things (undead especially). But beyond that, we have pretty good detail on the other nations/cultures but no idea of how they relate to Lordran. Seems that gods can leave and have temporal power elsewhere e.g. Lloyd, but other than that I imagine Anor Londo has been radio silent. Is it a holy seat, former imperial capital, etc? DaS feels very much about empire and capitalism in the abstract, but is there a basis to fit Lordran into a world system more concretely?
