Heeeey finally dropping this here. This phobia is called Tokophobia and for this comic I made a little research on it. The few articles I found about Tokophobia are presented with a bias oriented to the concept of "family being the only valid achievement in life for women". Much of the experiences shared on this articles include using really upsetting methods to force a person with Tokophobia to carry a pregnancy to term in favor of "giving a family to her husband". This methods include hypnosis therapy🙄 How is this different from getting conversion therapy for a queer person?
While I agree with Tokophobia being classified as a mental illness/mental health issue, I strongly disagree with forcing people with the condition to live their worst fears just to keep reinforcing the idea that AFABs are meant to breed and form a heterosexual nuclear family. Given that, in this discourse, that is the only valid achievement in life for them and family nexus must be biological to count.
Why is it more acceptable to force a person with Tokophobia to give birth using hypnosis therapy than adopting a child from the system?
