Pop Up! - Here (Mere Notilde Remix)

Last week I announced Pop Up's upcoming new release on Notilde Tapes. I actually worked on a remix of one of the songs off of the upcoming EP, which may or may not be featured on the EP itself depending on what Pop Up wants.
For this track, I tried to stay true to the EP in my own way. Pop Up! focused on going in a classic house direction for his new EP. I've always been inspired by that direction in general, so it made sense for me to try my own spin on it! The drum loops are something I would hear in old Chicago House songs all the time, so I've been really into using them to make my drums sound more lively. I've always liked organic sounding drums more than strictly synthesized drum samples, so relying heavily on drum loops helped me achieve that as well. The hihats and shakers are also from different samples I'd find on my sample hunting sessions. I spent a really long time making sure the drums sounded right on this one!
