Haruspex Update - Rough Draft is DONE

Hey y'all, hope it's going well!!

(or at least as well as it can be if you're in the US)

Apologies as ever for the delayed update, been very hard at work trying to get things, lots of late nights and even more coffee, because I wanted to be able to come back around with something substantial. Fortunately, I most certainly have something substantial now:

The rough draft of the script for the Haruspex's Route is fully done - All 12 days, plus 4 intermissions detailing the history of Anton Chekhov and the Moscow Arts Theatre, plus a lengthy analysis on both the themes and what makes the game work so well for those who get Weird about it.

It is, beyond any shadow of a doubt, the longest, most intensely researched, and most ambitious thing I've ever put together, and I am deeply excited to see it come together and share a lot of the ideas I've found as it's all come together.

So what happens now then?

Well, first and foremost, getting that Rough Draft upgraded to a final draft! I'll be working with a couple other writers over the next few weeks to polish this up, sharpen the humor, cut redundancies, flesh out bits that merit is, make sure everything connects to everything else, etc. As I'm sure you can tell from the length, this will be an endeavor more or less on par with editing a novel, so I do expect it will take a while.

The fortunate thing about this format however is that it is inherently broken into chapters, which means that it's possible to get certain things locked down while other things are still in flux. This is my way of saying that my current short term goal is to get a rough cut of Day 1 together by the end of the month, though the true Final Draft of the script will likely take another month or so. Getting one Day in order will be a relatively simple one, though will likely still be subject to change as tweaks are made.

Once I have something that I'm comfortable calling a Final Draft in hand, I'll be sharing it on here for you all to see as we proceed to edit it. After the script's been locked down, I'll be focusing on editing the Days at a pace of about 1-2 Days a month. This will translate into about 30-60 minutes of content each month. Given that I expect this to run about as long as Act I and Act 2 of the Bachelor's Route combined (7 Hours), I'm sure you can see the

I'm actually quite confident that I could churn this out pretty rapidly once I have all the different assets in hand, all 7 hours rushed together in a couple months of non-stop Grindset. As I've mentioned before, I am making a deliberate effort to pace myself on this. This is both to help avoid burnout, and to give myself space to work on things that aren't just Patho so that I'm not just living in the Gorkhon full-time for the entirety of 2025 while keeping some variety on the channel.

Once I have all the key assets in hand, the script, the cast, my own VO, commissioned art, etc, I'll be slowing down slightly on Haruspex in order to put together some other, smaller projects. Already have a few things in the works, none of which will be as involved as this, almost all of which are collaborations of some kind or another, but all of which are things I've been keen to make in some form or another for a while now.

This will also, hopefully, give me enough free time to start streaming consistently, which is one of my goals for myself this year. More on that very soon, keep an eye on Bluesky, Discord, and Tumblr~

All of this to say:

Things are progressing and progress quite well. Haruspex will be done when it's done, but it's on good pace to be done sooner rather than later, while still leaving me flexible to work

Also, not to leave it unstated: It's going to Fuck, Severely. Never been more excited for a project to come together and will be fighting tooth and nail to make it the best thing I've ever created.
