Pathologic, For Those Who Will Never Playing It (Haruspex's Route) [Act 1 + 2 + 3]

This cut includes both Day 9 & Day 10. Current runtime: 5h51m.

Only one Act left. The finale draw near.

Hey ya'll, hope all's well!

It has been quite the productive month, though not quite in the way i expected. I'll freely admit that I got too locked in on editing to focus on writing the 97 Poets script, and I'll talk about that in depth later, but I think the results speak for themselves:

This cut features nearly an hour of new content, and everything up to Day 7 is now 100% voice acting complete (save 1 minor role which I've deliberately held off on till all's done). If you have been waiting for things to be really close to completion before you watch, this is your chance.

I'll likely write up a full update tomorrow, but for now its suffice to say that we are now hauntingly close to having the rough cut of the main summary in order.

There will still be a lot of work after that, there's the analysis section of course, as well as going back and polishing the summary (adding text sync'd to the dialogue, live-action filming, etc.), but this does feel like the first time I can see the end, even if it's just a speck on the horizon.

The rough cut of the summary will almost certainly be done by the end of November and I'm just as excited as you about it.

See you again soon,

Ok sorry one more time I was trying to avoid doing it for everyone because the delivery’s have been top notch so far but bad grief made me grin that’s so perfect

Will try to keep this short, this kind of oversharing to creators always gave me the heebie jeebies but- currently I’m in what will fingers crossed be the end of a hospital stay, and in treating myself to something I’ve wanted to watch for a long while- ignore the, frankly, Terrible juxtaposition, it’ll be fine- Mushy stuff out of the way, thank you dearly for this series. Pathologic is a game so deeply fascinating to me in function and form and there’s no way I would have discovered it without your help. More to the point, the voice acting work and more accessible method of sharing it has allowed a swath of people who would otherwise be turned away to give it a shot, and that’s commendable. Your team have done an impeccable job and you should all be absolutely chuffed with yourselves for a job well done. God- illl try not to go further, but the way the vas are able to capture character - getting aspitity nailed down as they did??? Cannot give them enough props Ok I think that’s me worn out, but thank you again, and I hope these ramblings are at least able to shine a lil bit of light to whoever reads it haha!

So hyped for this! And your point about how Vlad seems much nicer early on is something I personally find to be an excellent example of how well Pathologic is written in terms of how characters act in different routes. With the Bachelor, both Vlad Sr. and Vlad the Younger have no qualms talking openly about how they see the Kin. They're quick to call them animals and brush off the Bachelor's rightful concerns about the Termitary. They expect this big city guy to see the Kin as they do, so they don't bother hiding it. They don't think he'll care about the lives in the Termitary if they write off the inhabitants there as mindless beasts. And the Bachelor can push back pretty firmly on that assumption. But with the Haruspex, they have an interest in making sure he's on their side. They know he has an important role within the Kin and they want that influence aligned with them. Accordingly, they're so much more polite and helpful, and they act like they have genuine respect for the Kin and Isidor. You still end up seeing what monsters they are, but they're much more careful about trying to hide it. It's such a great contrast to show how these characters act differently depending on whom they're speaking with. I have a friend who played Haruspex route before he ever played the Bachelor route, and he said the whiplash was a complete punch to the gut. He saw the Olgimskys pretty favourably in his Haruspex playthrough and thought they really cared about the Kin and Artemy, then played the Bachelor route and found out how the Olgimskys were really speaking about the Kin this whole time. It felt like such a complete and genuine betrayal to learn that was what they really thought. And that's GREAT writing. Sorry for the long ramble! I just love this bit of the writing so much. Absolutely adore your videos, been looking forward to this one for a while and it does not disappoint!
