Hey guys, I can't remember if it was in this episode or not, but Gary, can you post the title and author of that novella (novel?) that was like, "yeah, I bet it's kinda scary in theory if the universe doesn't care about you, but meanwhile, everyone in this immediate would wants to inflict violence upon me because I'm black." That's probably a terrible description, but I think you'll know what I mean. It sounded like exactly what I want to read right now...

the Viewing was sick. I was actually overall disappointed with the project, really only liking The Viewing, The Autopsy, and the skin cream one whose name I can't remember. -GB

A great british show that many people don’t seem to mention that much is The Detectorists, which is funny and poignant. And for some unfilmable stuff, Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities anthology series has lots of great stuff in it, especially “The Viewing”.

Fun fact: I have a long history with the HPPodcraft guys dating back to around 2010 - I designed their original logo (the tentacled radiowave - they still use it here and there), their original website, and a load of other graphics (including the Witch House Media logo.) I appear as a guest on one of their earlier episodes. Chad and Chris are awesome dudes.

Ah shit, I'm not sure I knew that. -GB

Speaking of problematic faves, you could add comic writer Tom King to the list .i enjoy his comics work but it gets increasingly difficult to reckon with his time in the CIA . Especially when he talks about how great a job it was and not like, that he may have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Iraqis

Re: Gary's microgrenre pick, "If you die in the game you die in real life" applies to all game shows.

Matt Bixler! Hello!

I’m playing through Wrath of the Righteous right now. I think it’s good but it is annoying to me that the most interesting bits of story and character are just a straight paste from the tabletop campaign. It’s so fucking crunchy, which I appreciate, but it just makes me appreciate what Larian does so much more. Im not sure if I’d play WOTR again but I’ll definitely finish it and I don’t regret my time with it at all. Not sure if it would make a good season for RLH.

The Binding of Isaac is the only game I can think of in which you fight your mom. Maybe La Mulana as well, but that's a bit of a stretch.
