December 2018 Patch [Patch 8]
Added 2018-12-24 10:13:55 +0000 UTC
Hey everyone, I hope you're having a good holiday season! Hopefully this month's translation patch will bring you some extra joy! While I initially wanted to focus on cleaning up, I got engrossed in translating and ended up translating between 1,200 and 1,500 new dialogs! We're around 65% - 70% of the way done now! It's honestly really exciting.
As always, I hope you enjoy the patch, and thank you for your continued support! I'll be away visiting until sometime in early January, so progress will be halted until then. I'll see you all in the New Year!
Translated Dialogs:
- Villager greetings in many situations (angry, sad, happy, annoyed, inside, etc)
- Villager "I haven't seen you in X days/weeks/months"
- Villager "I haven't seen you in so long" (when moved to another town)
- Villager flavor dialog involving Nook's store upgrade state, your house size, the number of players in your town, if you have a basement or not, and if you own the private island or not!
- Many more minor text changes & fixes.
Bugfixes:
- In a previous patch, I made it so a comma would be added to the wallet value that appears whenever you're in a store or the post office. I forgot to change the amount of characters shown (whoops!), so if you had more than 99,999 bells the last digit would get cut off. This is now fixed!
- Lost item villager quests (currently untranslated) used to have their lost item called "Quest Money" or something similar. This was wrong. The items are now correctly named and can be one of a few types of items (including clothes, gyroids, furniture, various tools, and more!)
- Fixed a small bug with item names that could cause weird text to be displayed sometimes (whoops again!)
