I do like them, theyโre strange and unique, the starches and glues create this ethereal shiny and glazy effect as you layer it thatโs hard to explain โฆ like idk if the comparisons people make to gouache are the most accurate or rather itโs the closest possible concept. itโs initially frustrating as watercolor since the first layers can be streaky, and not as intensely opaque as gouache, but is enjoyable and interesting at being itself. Tho I was โresponsibleโ and got a small palette that was like, a bunch of classic colors for mixing, with hindsight Iโd actually go for a set with more colors Iโd like to use right out of the pan (like the art nouveau one) because I think you can achieve the opaque consistency and plasticy layering much easier than when youโre mixing everything yourself. I do want to be making pro work with these bc I like the effect (and theyโre in my hand lol) but I think theyโre almost better for people who do already have solid watercolor or gouache sets since theyโre their own weird thing that might be frustrating if they needed to serve those purposes for someone, especially someone early in learning this class of wet media if that makes senseโฆ.? Anyway v intriguing to just add a million layers and keep building a crispy sugary shell
