A bunch of heckin' WIP's and stuff

So to be fair, I started on this half an on art trade about a year ago? Stuff comes up though and, you know, paid work comes first. Sometimes projects without a deadline kinda falls off the sides, but anyways!

Anyways, this was the inks on the first rendition I did for this trade, but putting down all the scales was kinda draining on my enthusiasm? I didn't feel very enthused about the pose either. It lacked the sort of coy and light-heartedness I enjoy drawing more! So after a few months of stewing on this one, I decided to switch to the pose (picture 1). I wanted to try painting more fertile grass/swamp-land anyways!

Getting a good chunk of the heavier tones in the composition first, since I'm still kinda wary about layers with watercolors so far. Plus, I mean, the butt quality of this pose is MUCH BETTER.

Got a lot of tones down into the form for this one, and like the last time I painted an argonian, painting on the scales worked better than penciling/inking/painting. That's too time consuming!

The scales! Still a bit time consuming, but hey the water highlights and THAT BUTT.  I had a moment during the scale painting, thinking to myself, "scales are kinda like lingerie in a way, yes? little shapes that accent the form".

Furthermore, here's a rough sketch and pencils for Glenthefossa's catboy! He hit me up for a commission of this boy, AND HOW THE HECK COULD I REFUSE?

He mentioned service as a theme, and maybe due to outside influences, I kinda liked the idea of food and lounging. Strawberries, why not?

For real though, oof. Those shapes were riveting to draw.

Enjoy!
