Empress of Thieves 3: Page 31 & Cover

guh- It's done then! A whole 'nother issue of Empress of Thieves! Setting up the location of the next chapter- TAILLEAUEX? The town I'll never remember how to spell correctly?! Yes, probably. I'll probably have to spend a good while drawing up thumbnails next month, once I can get a printed copy of the script, oof.

But let's talk a little about the cover! Apparently in November 2019 I mocked up this lil' doodle of what I was thinking the cover should look like:

and even though the final result didn't stray tooooooooo far away from the original concept, I did want to try coming up with newer ideas. I feel like my mind was relatively made up though, because after a few tries my brain was drawing blanks.

The first two here felt too action comic-y for what I was hoping for- and the third one at the bottom was just an idea for issue 4! sometimes brainstorming takes you too the wrong place entirely but it was there, so it had to be put down.

But I wanted to have at least a little revision to the concept-

Ever so slightly different I know, but I'm hoping since Otieno and Yakone read kinda serious (as is their characters) the goofiness of Thumble will make it clear there's a level of campy goofiness to these stories, ya know?

Thanks y'all for your support though! It' s been a LONG heckin' ride getting this issue done, and I'm excited to show y'all the shenanigans issue 4 has!!
