Sometimes it only takes three tries to figure out what I want I guess? A couple sloppy lil' concept sketches for things in the next chapter of Empress of Thieves. I got a little stuck on the idea that the "Ring of Near Invisibility" should be a bit more distinct than a common ring, and having a way to symbolize it's power? I felt the last one in particular meshes the best with the style/visuals of the comic without having a figure that was too modernly simplified. Also a little detail beneath the character, lil' eye shapes close in relation to them, but open elsewhere.
The guards I wanted to make sure where visually distinct from Thournmounte guards, even if they share some similarities. (And this is true for the Museum attendant as well) Having a mesh of French Rococo, Italian Rococo/Renaissance characteristics, since Tallieauex is vaguely based on an Italian town (if there was a very heavy French influence). If there's a way to figure out what a culture should look like in Empress of Thieves, it's some sort of mesh of the original if they had come under a French empire, detailed like Rococo? I hope that makes sense.
I also had an idea of what the Museum attendant would look like, but I guess the specifics were a little harder to get down. I think this works though, a touch fancy and business right? He seems like a very straight forward kind of person.
Just have to finalize a design for the Shield of Ordo now oof!
Hope y'all enjoyed these peekys at the next chapter! :3
