Smolder Scrolls 2: Pencils pages 21 & 22
Added 2020-06-05 14:10:10 +0000 UTCI caught myself inking out the lettering before I got these scanned, so forgive me for the inked letters. I think I'm pretty happy with most of this? Is it a bit of a bittersweet ending? I guess so.
I have a bit of a different relationship with partings like this, because of how my relationship developed with my partner. We started talking about dating over a summer vacation in college, while I was living with one of my parents, a 6 hour drive away. We would message each other each day over the summer until I came back for my last semester. We grew pretty close having had the time to just talk openly and get to know each other well. But when I graduated, I got kicked out of the dorms and had to move back in with my parents again. It was only a month until I moved back to Mankato, having gotten a small job to cover expenses. After she graduated, about a year later, she got an internship in Portland. For three months she was on the other side of the country, but we would still talk to each other most nights. I even took a weekend to fly out, and we went around the city, visited books stores, bakeries, and such. Only a weekend though, and we had to part again for another short while. Shortly after she came back from the internship though, we got married. There's just something very sweet to me about trusting that someone comes back to you.
Otherwise, I changed a few little details on these pages, concerning panel borders. I realized somewhere down the road that last particular issue didn't include a lot of spreads, bleeds, or border-less panels. I think I'm usually better with those sort of details, but hmm, oh well. What's done is done. I took out some borders with these pages, put in a bleed, because it looked a little better for those instances to be so (definitely p21 panel 3 and p22 panel 2).
Page 22 gets a little dialogue HEAVY, so I hope it doesn't feel too rushed!
