DiceCloud is moving (soon)
Added 2016-09-15 05:00:56 +0000 UTCThanks to Patron support, DiceCloud is going to be moving to a new hosting provider (Scalingo) in the next few weeks. You can try it out here: https://dicecloud.scalingo.io, the site has a copy of the DiceCloud database, so your login details and characters should all be there.
The move to Scalingo should improve load times, reduce delay that impacts some actions, make characters sync faster between users, and generally perform better.
While I urge you to try it out and give feedback, but there are a couple of things to note:
- Your changes made on the new server won't be saved! When I migrate everyone to the new host, the DiceCloud database will be copied over again, overwriting changes. Be sure to use dicecloud.com for actual character sheets and changes that you want to keep.
- Drop-down boxes are broken in Chrome. This bug is a bit of a show-stopper, since DiceCloud relies heavily on drop-down boxes. It's one of the things holding back the move, but it'll be fixed soon.
- I might take the Scalingo server down occasionally to fiddle, but never for very long. If you get a generic message from the host, this is probably what happened.
Let me know if it's working for you, see if you notice a difference in speed and responsiveness.
You can message me on any format with feedback (Reddit, Patreon, Twitter, or the feedback tool), I read everything and put all bugs and feature requests in The List, even if I don't always reply.

Definitely before the end of October. Unless things go wrong, it'll happen this week.

2016-09-30 13:48:38 +0000 UTCI'm not exactly sure if they were created after the copy, but here: http://dicecloud.com/character/uHtvTk3sRgL5ArxKF

2016-09-19 14:10:17 +0000 UTCAlways use dicecloud.com to access DiceCloud. When the time comes, I'll handle all the back-end trickery and nobody should notice anything different (except maybe the improved performance). Can you link me the characters that haven't copied over? If they were created after the copy, that makes sense, but if they are old characters, then I have some problem in the migration process that will have to be sorted out before the move.

2016-09-19 06:15:44 +0000 UTCSo as of right now, we're still using dicecloud.com until you've given to go to use the new host? Cause not all of my character sheets have copied over anyway.
