Sketch Commission: Zarathustra Apterbringer
Added 2023-07-13 22:40:39 +0000 UTCClient commissioned me to paint a biomecha rendition of one of Nagano's more recent Five Star Stories designs- the Zarathustra Apterbringer, commonly abbreviated to the "ZAP" . Nagano's work is famously elaborate and ornate - I felt more than a little intimidated by the complexity of the ZAP, but restricting the composition to this bust/profile format made it a little more approachable. More than anything, looking at sperm whale skeletons informed the texture and morphology here.
