Oppai Orange - Mikan - Offering to the Goddess (Poster Art)

Mikan knelt before the stone idol of Daidaihanasakuya-hime, the oppai goddess of old Japan. Adhering to the ancient ritual, she burned incense and scattered an offering of oranges around the fertile soil at the base of the shrine. 

"May their seeds take root," she murmured softly, her voice barely audible over the distant sounds of music, laughter, and fireworks from the summer festival in the valley below. With her duty fulfilled, she turned back towards you, eyes filled with anticipation and a slight hint of nervousness, but mostly excitement.

"I hope my offering pleases the goddess," she whispered softly as she began to disrobe. "Now please," she hesitated momentarily before completing her embarrassing request. "You must… offer your seed as well."

Her ample breasts rose and fell under the splayed hem of her yukata and the scent of fresh oranges filled the air as she awaited your response.

Oh My Oppai Orange!! (Aa! Oppai-sama)

The great breast goddess must have willed that this festive poster art of Mikan should reach her final evocation at the appropriate time, hence, here we are, not in April or May, but June, just in time for summer matsuri. Around here at least, we're already experiencing those hot summer nights (and hot summer days, and hot summer everything). Gweh~~~ It's terrible outside right now. How was human life ever possible without air conditioning?

Oppai Orange was another of those trademark Two Month Projects that I managed to stretch into four. I swear, when I give estimates, I should just take my realistic worst-case scenario and just double the time. Only then would I start reaching parity with reality.

Gripes at my own failings and stumbling slowness aside, I'd say the pic turned out okay. The background ended up going through a couple reworks. There was a bunch of initial upscaling and downscaling of the character and background art in search of the right balance. Since Mikan is the main attraction, in the end, the character art got bigger and obscured most of the center frame. This caused a few compositional problems, as originally there was a large shrine gateway--a "torii" as the kids call it-- positioned over and around Mikan. However, once the enlarged character art was in place and the perspective adjusted, the gateway was 90% obscured, leaving only the horns of the torii poking out beyond the sides of Mikan's head. It wasn't a good look, so I ended up removing it and repainting the affected areas. It made me sort of crazy at the time, but looking at the pic now, the loss isn't felt. No big deal. 

Thank Amaterasu that Mina had a yukata that I could play with for reference. Guys, artists out there, reference is key! If you don't have any, hit thrift shops, Ali-Express, or wherever you can, to have some genuine articles or their low-quality equivalents on hand to study. If you're just drawing nude female figures, you'll either need to be a girl, become a girl, or know a girl. Alternatively, you could just use tools like photos and DAZ, figurines, Clip Studio Paint models, etc. These combined with some basic anatomy knowledge and a refined and studied figure drawing system can take you to the promised land of creative ecstasy.

Anyway, I'm blabbing. I guess I'm just stoked that the big poster pic is finally finished. Mikan's breasts can freely bounce before the gaze of her many danna-sama, in their parallel realities.
