The bit about mediocrity is a good point - a YouTuber named SkillUp sort of brought this up with his review of "Immortals of Aveum". It's not the greatest game out there, but it's decent and good, and he said that was actually a good thing as something to look out for when it goes on sale or, more topically, as a palette cleanser between all the big releases we've been getting this year between Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077's expansion with Idris Elba, etc.
