History Summarized: Minoan Greece!

That sacred bull is all over the place. - Le Tuc d'Audoubert has a giant clay bull inside - Çatalhöyük's dwellings had actual bull horns built into sacrificial corners of the dwelling, and a humans-hunting-animals motif on many walls - the most impressive had a bunch of people fighting a giant aurochs. - Gilgamesh and Enkidu fighting the Bull of Heaven - Numerous other references that I'm forgetting or ignorant towards.

The Eruption was 1600BC the Minoan downfall wasn't for 150 years after that and the bronze age collapse wasn't for 250 after that. It was probably a bad day but there's scant evidence for civilization ending impact.

Whoa - this is quite the puzzle piece. The eruption of Thera likely kicked off the Collapse of Mediterranean Civilization and the "Sea Peoples" time of troubles that Ramsses3 dealt with. A volcano will *definitely* reduce crop yields in the short term.

So is it possible that they got cultural trading and mingling with Egypt given the art and customs such as a sacred bull?
