I'm exactly like you, Red. I used to get so frustrated by weird categorizations of elemental magic systems, and now that I care less about it than I used to, I'm annoyed that I cared so much in the first place. Neurodivergent mind = a tendency to over-complicate things for no reason. Anyway, the development of my invented universe is very long and complicated and tied itself into spaghetti countless times, but when creating a magic system, I wanted to make sure I knew the rules I was establishing. I got stuck on that for a long time, but now I'm very proud of the system I made.
