Electric guitars require certain things:
Band-passing to clean problematic lower AND higher frequencies
Color EQ to carve out mid-range and upper mid-range frequencies
Parallel processing (Saturation, Pre-Amps, Distortion) to enhance the guitar sound
Aggressive compression effects (Waves Renaissance Axx, or FET compression)
