Update on Patreon subscription changes – A Plan!

TL,DR: We've got a plan for how to transition from Per-Creation to Per-Month charges. Starting in January, we're essentially bumping up all of the tiers by 1, numbers are listed below.

Hi Patrons! Two update posts in two days, exciting!

We appreciated everyone's feedback yesterday on the potential tier reshuffling (thank you Tim Apple) and we've got a plan for how to go about this:

• For the rest of 2024, nothing's changing.

• In January of 2025, we'll update to per-month and start the year off fresh, rather than change everything in the middle of the year.

• The tiers and rewards will be as follows:

  • $1 – Circle 1: Limbo – The Tip Jar, access to posts for new videos and seasonal updates, access to merch discounts and special bonus merch in The Vault.

  • $5 – [Title TBD] – The AASS tier, access to the After After Show Show.

  • $10 – Five Man Band – The Art Zone, access to weekly preview posts every monday, and monthly wallpaper packs with frames from that month's videos, plus sneak peeks of upcoming topics for the new month. Due to inflation, each member of the 5-Man Band is worth $2, please send your regards to Mr Wukong.

  • $25 – Achilles Blanket Fort – Name In The Credits, your name will be in the credits of each video.

  • $50 – Trickster Deities – Bigger Name In The Credits, your name will be prominently displayed in the big main column of each video's credits.

Essentially, we're shifting up the tiers a bit, but they're not all going up by the full 4x. Five-Man Band and Trickster Deities become 2x the current weekly level, and Achilles Blanket Fort becomes 2.5x the current weekly level. We support patrons setting monthly caps on charges (plz always prioritize your own financial well-being), so we hope this updated tier layout keeps people in the ballpark of what they're paying now.
Another benefit to keeping the tier levels largely where they are is minimizing friction during the switch, because everyone will still be in a tier afterwards and nobody will get booted into the Phantom Zone because a tier disappeared.

This also means we have one new tier to name! Comment with your suggestions for an AASS-specific tier name and we'll go from there.

We are so tremendously grateful to you all for supporting us, thank you for bearing with us as we navigate these changes. We obviously aren't thrilled with the circumstances of this change, but we feel confident in this new setup and hope you do too.
