2022-05-29 22:39:57 +0000 UTCI usually limit myself to Hindi cinema. However, as Jane Austen's lover, encouraged by some earlier comments here, I watched Kandukondain Kandukondain. Really good Indian contemporary adaptation of Austen's "Sense and Sensibility". Better than some western adaptations of her romance classics. I like its classical film adaptation with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet as two sisters (1995). Surprisingly Kandukondain Kandukondain was for me another interesting take of this story, much above average. Good writing and good acting. Great Tabu and Mammootty. Film definitely better than "Bride and Prejudice", Bollywoodised version of Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", also featuring Aishwarya Rai. I need to rewatch it one day.
