So. Rimuru maintains his actual size, that doesn't require black mist, because it consumes less energy, and because he thinks it's fun to see how he develops over time. There are a number of advantages to human form, and others to Slime form. Degenerate is a Skill Shizu gained and used to keep herself from merging completely with Ifrit. The kanji and katakana were spelling foreign words and Japanese ones. Rimuru still uses male speech. The ogres are not demons. Majin are basically upper level monsters, another translation is magic-born. Create Material and changing clothes instantly are upper level Skills.

Looks like quests might be coming his way rather than Rimuru going on Shizu's quest. Oh, Shizu, he ate her body after her soul left so that sequence of her going back to her mother was her soul joining her mother's in the Here-After.
