There are 2 OVAs that serve as recaps (one at the end of Season 1, the other at the end of the first cour of Season 2, so after this episode), and they also show you Veldora's POV from inside Rimuru. While they aren't necessary, there are a few things you'll see in the second cour that will be direct references to them. Also, new OP next episode, and my favourite OP of the entire show, can't wait to see your reactions to it.

2024-12-05 00:50:31 +0000 UTCYeah, they were trying to prepare for Rimuru's possible change in personality or his going out of control. To that end, besides the password, they tried to gather all the strongest of Rimuru's people together at the moment he evolved, all this with Rimuru's consent, and he asked Benimaru to make sure that nothing like that happened. Rimuru trusted Benimaru for this, he didn't think everyone could or would do it. Anyway, the plan was all for nothing because no one anticipated everyone would fall asleep. Raphael's voice and manner did change. So, I talked about Black/Noir, now Diablo, a lot last episode, but Rimuru, who is constantly telling himself to be more careful about naming, goes ahead once again to recklessly name someone. But by now I think we all know that it's just what Rimuru does. Veldora was in Rimuru in spiritual form, and Rimuru could have just let him out, because Veldora would have eventually made his own physical body since True Dragons are the most powerful spiritual beings in existence. Rimuru's replication served to accelerate the process, enabling Veldora to consolidate his full power sooner. Raphael also ensured that a Soul Corridor was established between Rimuru and Veldora which is a much deeper connection than is established when you name someone.

The episode has 4 or 5 pieces of lore or characterization that explains some things people wonder about at some point. Depending on how much you hate missing anything that might shed light on the story, you can take it or leave it, but keep in mind that I am a fanatic.

She made a valley out of TWO mountains! 😂 Take a closer look at the background, you can see the next mountain range is also cut out. Anyhoo, I did say you guys were in for a surprise in this episode! I knew you guys would be excited for Veldora's return. So yes, things are rolling faster now and next is going to be a few setup episodes so Rimuru and crew cam organize their response to both Falmouth and Clayman. You'll also be getting more answers as to how what's happening in Tempest is affecting the other nations and characters we've met so far. Fear not however, at no point does the story stall. More like it ramps back up because of the lore dumps that are about to happen. Glad you guys are loving this season, as always your reactions were amazing. Thanks guys! 🩷💛🩵
